El Faro Tapas Bar & Wine ; Spain Food Hunting!

6:23 PM

I called myself a Spain-freak! Whatever related to Spain I opt to try LOL.
After out high-tea at Suffolk house, is time for dinner! (I think all of you guys may wonder how could we eat so much in a day, but we did! Lol.) All because of we shared. I love sharing when I hang out with friends. I just can't believe some girls they always had a whole big plate eaten by themselves or maybe they are just very hungry lol. I love food served in smaller portion of course with price of it size so I can eat more kind of dishes cause my tummy is just that small! Food with one big bowl or plate certainly not my cup of tea although their prices may be cheaper compared. Because I can't finish them!

El Faro, it means the lighthouse in Spanish. In Penang, it would be fitting to use this name and since they serve food in Tapas style (originated from Spain) and they like to pay homage to the spirit of Spain. Tapas are small tasting plates of dishes that you can sample so that it won't fill you up after a plate and it would be interesting to try many different kind of dishes in one seating don't you think?! When there's food there's wine beers to go with it. El faro have quite a selection to choose from. So, get some of your favourite dishes, grab some drinks, raise your glasses & let the good times roll!

Btw, food served in two size, tapas and dishes. Tapas is like a small portion of a food. And dishes was a bigger portion than tapas. Dishes price normally double the tapas price of food.

Menu.

Advisable to call for a reservation before coming for dining.
We went on that day and the indoor are fully reserved so we sat outdoor.

Chef's Pick! You can request to see what the dishes picked for the day.
But you can't change the dishes picked. But this is absolutely worthy!

Yours truly and her pretty cousie! Esther, Miichell & Fione.

Tender Pork Belly - Tapas (Recommended)
With cabbage, maple & lime sauce.
It tastes quite salty but overall the pork belly is well cooked.

The Bikini with Truffle Honey - Tapas (Average)
You probably think just a sandwich with ham inside. Yesh I think its overpriced.

Squid Ink Rice - Dishes (Recommend)
With seafood, ali oli, tomato and herb vinegreta.
The rice are not normally the type we eat. Maybe its Italian rice.

You can see theres got a mini octopus! Cuteness overloaded!
*thumbs up for the chef's idea!*

El Faro Paella - Tapas (Recommend)
With seafood and prawns. Wait for 20 minutes serving time.

Menu come with food's pictures! Yay again!
Dessert on the Table. (subject to chef's availability)
We didn't order for this cause we went somewhere else hunt for our dessert!

The blogger - Me!

There were less young-adults and more middle-aged chilling at El Faro maybe because their menu prices were more expensive compare to other cafes around Penang. This prices can't simply afford by us, the teenager and students for a meal. And their food are certainly not the same as usual we eat because all of them already cooked just like spanish dishes. Some of the kids or young-adults can't accept the taste of it. But you can visit with your family. Since we have already bored with those Japanese Korean Thai Chinese Western food...so why don't have a try of it?!

My next visit I would like to try their Crispy Pig's Ears, 120 Days Australian Grain Fed Striploin Steak, Kobe Beef, Arroz con Leche with Red Bean & Green Tea Rice Crisp, Churros and Desssert on the Table of course! Can't wait! I am so happy when I saw the menu cause I know all the food name and what they mean! *YESH!*

Check them out and have a pleasant dinner with your friends and family! Salud! (cheers!)
